February 15, 2012 - New Japanese Garden Announced
Meijer Gardens hosted a press conference on February 15 to announce the new 8 1/2 acre Richard and Helen DeVos Japanese Garden. The new garden is scheduled to open in 2015. See photos from the conference here.
June 28, 2012 - Early Construction Announced
Meijer Gardens will begin construction in mid-July on The Richard and Helen DeVos Japanese Garden. The 8 ½-acre addition was announced in February 2012, with a planned construction start scheduled for early 2013. Support from community and sponsors moved construction date ahead of schedule.
