Unique and eclectic, this 12-piece band draws inspiration from all genres of music–mixing classical, jazz, and old-fashioned pop to create a sound that is entirely their own. “If the United Nations had a house band in 1962 hopefully Pink Martini would be that band,” says band leader Thomas Lauderdale.
The group has sold over 2 million albums worldwide. Their latest release, Splendor in the Grass (2009), features several songs in a classic Pink Martini style alongside a departure into 1970s, modernist minimalism, classic ranchera, and swing.
