Tuesday Evening Music Club

The 2013 Tuesday Evening Music Club allows visitors of all ages to enjoy the talent of local musicians, beautiful summer weather and the ambiance of Meijer Gardens’ sculpture and gardens. The entire facility will be open to visitors until 9 PM on concert nights. Guests can bring picnic food or enjoy the Taste of the Gardens Café and amphitheater concessions. Concerts are free with paid admission to Meijer Gardens and all Tuesday Evening Music Club concerts begin at 7 pm.

Kelsey Rottiers: Indi-folk singer-songstress, with pop simplicity.

Lucas Wilson: Vocally gritty, renovated classic rock, with shades of soul.

July 9 at 7 pm

Cabildo: Afro-Cuban music, with dashes of salsa, Latin Jazz, batchata and meringue.

Serita the Black Rose:A blend of funk, neo-soul, and rock, helmed by a powerful singer-songstress.

July 16 at 7 pm

Andro: Celtic-based world-beat, played by a seasoned quartet on a wide range of instruments.

Kent County String Band: a five-piece ensemble specializing in pre-WWII standards, jazz, bluegrass, and Americana.

July 23 at 7 pm

Monica da Silva: Jazzy, multi-lingual vocals over an international mix of Brazilian bossa nova and indie-pop.

Asuma Johnson: Traditional blues played by a distinguished veteran.

July 30 at 7 pm

Nicholas James Thomasma and The Band Wagon: Toe-tapping country-folk, with a hint of zydeco.

Kari Lynch: Highly danceable, crowd pleasing country-pop.

August 6 at 7 pm

Bennett: An up-and-coming folk trio with a distinctive gift for harmonies both vocal and instrumental.

AG Silver: Innovative indie-rock with a focus on high energy live performances.

August 13 at 7 pm

Robin Connell: A highly accomplished jazz pianist/singer, and former instructor to Norah Jones.

Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra: Our hometown, premier big band jazz ensemble.

August 20 at 7 pm

Afro Zuma: A thirteen-piece, horn and percussion-driven, African funk/Afro-beat band.

The Soil & The Sun: Experimental folk-rock, incorporating a variety of instruments and musical styles.

August 27 at 7 pm

Ralston and Friends: Local music icon Ralston Bowles shares the stage with friends and collaborators from the community and beyond.
